Our professionals have experience in a variety of transactions including, turnarounds, corporate divestitures, mergers, acquisitions and financings for public and private companies. We have completed transactions and/or have management experience in numerous industries including software, technology, energy, business services, manufacturing, telecommunications and e-commerce.
Paul W. Bodet
Paul Bodet is a principal and founder of BIG. Before founding BIG, Paul headed the technology investment banking group for McGladrey Capital Markets LLC. Previous to McGladrey, he was a partner at TechCap Advisors, a Boston-based middle-market investment bank, where he advised software companies on mergers, acquisitions and private placements. Prior to TechCap, Paul executed M&A and financing transactions for the technology investment banking group of Banc of America Securities LLC (formerly Montgomery Securities LLC). His experience also includes working in Corning’s business development group and as a design engineer for Motorola. Paul received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Florida Atlantic University and a master’s of business administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management.
Gaylord J. Bodet
Gaylord Bodet is a principal and founder of BIG and has spent most of his career working with companies to help them become more efficient by developing processes and implementing systems. Gaylord began his career in the Iden Subscriber Division at Motorola Inc., where he held various roles within the Accounting and Finance teams. After Motorola, Gaylord become the Controller for Seven Seas Communications, a start-up satellite communications provider. As the Controller for Seven Seas, Gaylord implemented systems, developed policies and assisted with the strategic planning of that company. Seven Seas grew into the largest provider within its market segment at which time Gaylord assisted in the sale of the company to Stratos Global Networks. Thereafter, he served as the Vice President and CFO of TM Window & Door, a manufacturer of impact resistant windows and doors. As the Vice President and CFO of TM he optimized inventory turns, initiated a plant redesign, which improved throughput, developed financial models, and reduced administrative cost. Gaylord received a BA in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University.
Marcus G. Bodet
Marcus Bodet is a principal and founder of BIG. Marcus has counseled corporate clients on various matters such as governance, international business, contract negotiations and merger and acquisition transactions, including stock and asset purchases and sales. He has also been involved in several private and public financing transactions ranging from $5 million to more than $100 million. During his legal career, Marcus spent several years in the corporate practice group of Broad and Cassel, one of Florida’s largest firms. He also served as General Counsel to a healthcare information technology company. He is the former Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Sub-Committee on VOIP Technology. Marcus is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University.
Edouard MacGuffie is Operating Partner for BIG’s Energy Investment Division. Ed has significant business development, strategy, management consulting and operations experience. Previous to joining BIG, he served as Vice President in charge of Solar Development for Cogentrix Energy LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Goldman Sachs Group. Prior to Cogentrix, Ed was Executive Director of Development for FPL Energy (NextEra). Ed was also responsible for leading and managing the Product & Services group of a B2B Internet exchange/technology service provider serving the marine industry as Vice-President Products for internet start-up Marex.com. He has also lead management consulting teams during his tenure at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and performed strategy development at McKinsey & Company. Ed holds a master’s of business administration from the Harvard Business School and received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Miami.
Debra Weiss has over 25 years of experience in investment banking and consulting. She also has start up management experience; she was Founder & CEO of Clarity & Infinitum, a company providing vision correction solutions for electronic media. Prior to Clarity & Infinitum, she was the CEO of W4 Solutions Corporation Inc., a business consulting and corporate development firm where she assisted corporate clients with capital raises and strategic scenarios. Prior to W4, Debra was a Managing Director with Banc of America Securities, where she executed various large technology M&A transactions. She has received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Sagarika Mukherjee has over 10 years of experience in the field of investment banking, in the Indian and U.S. market. Prior to BIG, she was an Associate with McGladrey Capital Markets LLC, where she assisted with several M&A transactions. Prior to McGladrey, she was with Almondz Global Securities Ltd., an investment bank, where she assisted and advised some of the state governments & corporations in India with capital raises and fundings. Sagarika holds a CFA degree from The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Jabalpur, India.
